Welcome friends,
Since 1991 good fortune and health have allowed me to continue returning to the Nepal Himalaya. Initially the goal was to climb high. Soon the joys of the journeying became just as compelling: walking from village to village, meeting, working and laughing with the people. They became my friends and teachers. And since 1998, I have had the great pleasure of helping people explore this mountain world beyond roads. I am grateful to them all.
My custom treks continue to high and wild places. They are grand journeys of mythical scale. We are welcomed with warmth, eye-to-eye by gentle people. The days flow like waves of new faces, new vistas, and ancient ways. The wheels are for prayer. I know of nothing so soothing.
The world is alarmed by the news of the rebel insurgency in Nepal. Tourism has dropped dramatically. Other than collecting small "donations", the insurgents do not target tourists. My groups have never felt threatened or unsafe. I can still assure you that you will meet and share with local people, explore "untouched" areas and access the wild places at high altitude safely.
The groups are small and easy going. Nima Sherpa and his porters become our close friends. We walk and we laugh and we sing. Won't you come join us?
Namaste,

Tom Carter
